I started reading Khomyakov's book, which Vic recommended. It's a real page-turner. Considering how much I enjoy reading historical literature, I'll finish it. The book is vaguely reminiscent of Lev Gumilev's work, "The End and the Beginning."
So far, I've read 31 pages (out of 353).

I stopped at: "The larger the controlled territory, the greater the number of enemies along the perimeter of the expanded borders."

That's why Vic likes map templates with castles.
