There's a downside to this. Without a more or less clear ideology, a person cannot clearly know how to act in a given situation. For example, atheists, when they need to make an important decision, say that it is logical. Christians are guided by what God commanded (and, of course, logic too :D). But how do agnostics explain their choice? It seems to me that this is not an easy task, which in some cases can lead to a mistake that could have been avoided with a clear ideology.
I don't think that when deciding "how to act," a person is guided by their religious views; I think it's simply a matter of upbringing and the moral principles that a person develops before the age of 18. For example, even the most ardent atheist might give up their seat on a bus if someone clearly needs it more, guided by the moral principle that "it's the right thing to do," and not by any religion. Or, some boor, who also doesn't believe in God, wouldn't even think of giving up his seat; that's just how he was raised. And if some religious person thinks, "Now I'll give up my seat, do a good deed, and I'll be taken to heaven," then that's just hypocrisy and nothing more.
Morning
Atheists have arguments refuting other people's point of view.
No atheist can explain, for example, where life on Earth came from, because even science doesn't know. And in general, just because you don't see something doesn't mean it doesn't exist. No one sees ultraviolet radiation, but it exists; it can be detected with instruments. We can also assume that we simply cannot detect the existence of God with anything yet due to the insufficient development of technology.
