Now, I'll just put my head under the big, heavy boot...
Night 1: When I was reading the log, I was simply shocked - how could Host, the lawyer, have been blocked if the description CLEARLY stated that the butler's target had been changed? The description obviously indicates a transfer, which it was! He shouldn't have been mentioned at all during the block; it's like on the third night, when my target is transferred, it would still be written even though I don't have Night Defense!!! Damn, that's 50% of the game lost! I had already narrowed down the possible roles of Host to 2 or 3 on the second night (or rather, 2 townies or mafia, as far as I remember). Yesterday, I was quite sure that he was either the cook or a member of the mafia. Then I realized that there WAS a Night Defense on the cook on the first night (yes, I doubted it; the description was vague, but that's a good thing). But if it weren't for that description, I would have known his role on the second night - because the transfer of the target should have been mandatory, and if it wasn't, it would have been clear that the lawyer was one of the two under block (in general, I would have known it on the first night, I just wouldn't have been 100% sure).
Yeah... I have to admit that this was the GM's mistake. I'll tell you everything in order.
First night, supposedly. Energetic and full-of-energy players send me their Night Defenses, I write them down in my table, and I think about the newspaper. In the end, all the Night Defenses are sent, except for the Night Defense of our beloved housekeeper. I think everyone remembers how long the first night was. It dragged on so much that some players complained and started talking about replacing those who were delaying everyone (so as not to reveal roles, I answered all the curious ones that I was waiting for several players, not just one). As you remember, the housekeeper's block comes first, so the sent Night Defense could have changed the night in any way. I had already written the newspaper, ready to remove the murder, block, or other significant action from it.
More than 24 hours passed, and I received the Night Defense - a block on Hostor. Hostor, as we remember, was transferring the protection of Vegtam, but this transfer didn't affect anything at all - neither of them was attacked. "Great," I thought, and I wrote a paragraph about Hostor's closed door. I completely forgot that the transfer of protection should be canceled. This colorful paragraph with the crawling butler remained in the newspaper...
And only when someone (most likely, Gil) said that Host is not the lawyer because Host was blocked, but the transfer was - I realized that this Night Defense was important, and very important. :(
So, it's my mistake, I'm a scoundrel and I don't deserve to appear in this section. :smile39: Kill me, someone.
