Mafia 26. Lady Mallowen's Last Caprice

Well then, I'll share my thoughts as well.
First, I'll go through the nights one by one.
Night 1: When I read the log, I was simply shocked—how was Hos, the lawyer, blocked if the description CLEARLY stated that the butler's target had been changed? The description obviously indicated a transfer, that it happened! If he were blocked, he shouldn't have been mentioned at all; it would be like on the third night, during my target transfer, this being written despite me having no ND!!! Damn, that's a 50% chance of losing! By the second night, I had already narrowed Hos's possible roles down to 2 or 3 (more accurately, 2 townies or mafia, as I recall); yesterday I was clearly convinced he was either the cook or mafia. Then I realized there actually WAS a cook's ND on the first night (yes, I doubted it, the description is vague after all, but that's correct). But if not for that description, I would have known his role by the second night—because a target transfer would have been mandatory, and its absence would have made it clear that the lawyer was one of two under block (actually, I would have known on the first night, just wouldn't be 100% sure). It turns out the mafia got lucky three times on the very first day... They hit the doctor immediately, the man probably chose the butler by pure chance (the only other role with even a single possibility of healing), and then everything in the description worked out so that one of the mafia players' roles just vanished. Simply wonderful. Monte Cristo—heh, I likely wouldn't have figured it out; I didn't associate cigars with Guinness's filmography, although I looked through his entire filmography on the first day. And I would have figured it out with own same as same today—I was planning to watch the movie (yes, I haven't seen it and didn't know who the main villain was, I confess). The situation with the man was more interesting. I didn't know which anime character Flandre had on their avatar (I fundamentally didn't want to ask him). I must admit, the first day's clues were easy—it's purely our fault we didn't solve them. Though the mafia also failed to understand this clue.
Night 2: Here I was specifically own same. Firstly, the fact that Ple-sen held something in his hand. That's why I became convinced of his role. But then, due to a flaw in my structural analysis of the notes, I considered him the postman, despite not finding an explanation for the "empty hand." My first mistake. The hooded cloak—here I was just an idiot; I could have solved it back then, but I didn't use the English wiki and trusted the Russian one instead. Both mentioned Obi-Wan Kenobi's role, but on the Russian one, it wasn't in the main description, but further down—and so Gur slipped through my fingers. Based on his behavior, I was sure he was mafia—I suspected him on the second day, and became certain on the third (but closer to the end, which is also bad). Neyra's block combined with her posts made me 100% understand her role—well, it was obvious.
The clue about Flandre—mega-stupidity on my part. I realized it the next day when he had already been killed, and yet I wanted to execute the man on the second day; if only I'd been a bit more diligent... I want to note a flaw on the mafia's part, the pseudo-detective's note: obviously, if a detective writes about status, they would also report the role of one of the killed (especially considering the heap of doubt due to stupidity) and an additional clue. I don't know why such a pseudo-detective note was sent if it would be dismissed immediately. This isn't criticism, just thinking out loud. And back to the mafia: the funniest thing, Ar, is that the murder clue for the man was your quote. :D Here we all played the fool together, both the mafia and the town. The fact that there was no specific object etc. actually indicated that the clue stood out by its method of delivery. And even after reaching this conclusion, I didn't decode it, focusing on Ar's execution. By the way, if we had executed Ar on the second day as I wanted, we would most likely have won. In any case, the chances would have been much higher. However, it's not surprising you didn't believe me, since I could have been mafia misleading everyone. But My God, it was so clearly visible HOW Ar was defending himself. On the second day he still tried, which made sense then, but on the third he didn't try at all; he was more like egging everyone on—well, that's elementary psychology—and even on the third day some doubted.
Night 3: Well, Reg's murder is clear. Flandre's murder is a bit more interesting: I did think that since the necklace was made of blood clots, it must be strangulation by hand. But I wasn't sure, so I didn't insist on this version for myself. I solved the clue to Pandora toward the end of the day, but because I had to leave for courses, I didn't have time to find my "berber" for the second clue and realized that if Pandora isn't the man, she definitely killed—even if she could be the enamored maid (yes, I eventually dismissed the possibility of Jane-killer). At this stage, I considered Hostora the cook, but then started thinking in the direction of mafia and realized my mistake. Only it was too late; everyone collectively executed Arandor—and that was because of me. My main mistake, which led to the loss. Of course, I could say others could have thought more and found the error on my part. But I'm used to relying on myself, so I don't intend to blame anyone. The only thing I'll say: Nebo, maybe you just didn't have internet access? :( Because you knew the postman was alive, you knew I was wrong... And it was precisely because of this mistake that we lost... I thought the detective was in the game, and even with my death, we would win... Of course, the chances would be small, and this isn't the only factor that influenced the outcome, but it was significant. The bridge thing is my fault; I thought it was the detective and became even more convinced of my version. Mafia letters—well, as I said, either the detective's letter or one of the postman's letters had to be correct. This is where I made this fundamental error, which unfortunately no one noticed. The note from the Head Maid was actually funny. :D Then, returning from courses when night had already begun, I solved the clue for Gur, solved the clue for Pandora, realized she was likely Sir Charles (didn't specify because I wasn't sure and didn't want everyone to go in the wrong direction by default on the deciding day), determined Neyra's role, realized Hos is mafia... In total, my list of mafia players were Ar, Hos, Gur, Pandora... There was no evidence for TaKo either, of course, but based on her posts on the second day about Ar's execution, I thought she was probably the fifth. As I found out today, I wasn't wrong. Thanks to Lingu for great culinary skills—you couldn't help, it wasn't up to you, but you played correctly and even figured out who Lady Beatrice is and who needs defending. Neyra, why didn't you write a note earlier that Pandora was sitting in the room? :( Because that would have shown she was either Lady Beatrice, the Cook, Charles, or the Enamored Maid... Well whatever, what's there to say now. The will was drawn up by me with hope for victory, as can be seen.
Night 4: Well, what is there to say, my assumptions about the mafia were confirmed. Though that's where the shock was—Hos was the lawyer. Truly knocked me sideways, considering the description of the first night. I want to thank the mafia for a worthy game; it doesn't seem like it was particularly stressful for you—you just quietly and peacefully did your job. You had pretty good luck; we were specifically own same. The victory is quite honest (I won't say 100% because I am firmly convinced of how cruelly that night description of night 1 affected the outcome).
Next, I'll go through the posts and comment on what you all wrote here.
Ar, those accusations of mafia making mistakes were just playing to the crowd. I couldn't know your thinking completely, but it was necessary for me to convince the mob of my correctness. So you can take none of those accusations personally (regarding the mafia, rather); I was just playing a "role within a role." I used standard human psychology for my own goals. What else was I supposed to do if we didn't get enough votes on the second day and I couldn't reveal my role? I got into an argument with you trying to counter every one of your arguments with my own, making them simply "sound more correct." Not that you tried very hard, of course, but I didn't have to use maximum skills either. The goal was achieved; you were executed. But a day later. And specifically on day 2, I lacked the eloquence to hang you. The last mistake in the list of my stupidity during the game. Hard to call it a mistake—I just didn't find a method to convince everyone. Nonetheless. And also, I won't say I was wrong about needing to look for Charles first—that's simply a consequence of me being wrong about the detective. Had I known he was dead—I would have certainly done everything to ensure Pandora was executed. Regardless of whether she was guaranteed to be Charles—if not, we wouldn't find him anyway. Except maybe by guessing from possible options.
On my part, also a huge thank you to Slonysh; great game, unusually pleasant setting—glad I debuted with this mafia. It was a pleasure playing with everyone—even if we lost because of me (yes, yes, the same self-flagellation, and no one will prove to me that anyone other than me is at fault), but overall, I'm more or less satisfied with my debut. It could have been worse, and for my first game, I didn't mess up an infinite number of times, just a whole lot (my own scale :D). Ar, Hos, Pandora, TaKo, Gur—you were worthy opponents (though Gur was too obvious with his complete lack of activity—only it didn't matter :D).
Man really helped us out—acted like a representative of a second mafia with the goal of getting rid of the town. :D
Yes, Slonysh, the clues really were easy (well not the very-very easiest (won't name nicknames), but not difficult at all—balance was present). And you think poorly of me; I actually did look at the actor's page—right on the first day. Not noticing and not trying to find it at all are different things, after all.
Hermit, well done, held up well. And even though Zedji mentioned a kamikaze version, it's good you didn't do that. It only made sense on the first night, but by the second day I knew the smoker 100%, and your vote was important—every one counted. Thank you.

Hos, well they were supposed to amuse you; I was just playing a role as I said before. :D Well I couldn't leave the third day without an execution when I definitely knew 1 mafia and suspected two almost certainly! And such descriptions and addresses psychologically pressure a townie and convince them of my correctness. But yes, I believed in the detective. Just a small slip-up, sigh... My argument, damn it, was that you couldn't predict the detective's actions, and this night he supposedly found out my status while playing bridge—even if it was stated in the letter who he would check, I thought the check happened—and you wouldn't be able to rig that. And also, did Flandr play well? :D Let's be honest, he didn't play well, but luckily for you. He just had bad luck; he chose the wrong people. What reason does a man have in a game with SUCH roles to cut out mafia? You could have simply transferred his target to himself as soon as you figured him out and killed him without spending the killer's ND. Not to mention that before that, you would have used him every night as a puppet...

By the way, a question to the mafia—by what logic did you kill our detective on the second day? Just at random? I don't seem to see any ways you could have known he was the detective. Another rather lucky coincidence here, our only killer. :)
