Hand of Fate. Part 1: On the March

Hmm... a lot has changed since I last tested the map. I'm thinking of replaying it after the 1.1 release. I start the game, eliminate all the minor enemies until I reach the first major monastic patrol. To my surprise, I discover phoenixes, buy a few, and head towards the patrol, only to be defeated by them o_0. How can I defeat them? Should I use mummies and cast "Dispel" or "Confusion"? They have "Purification" and high initiative, so they manage to kill most of my snipers... Maybe I should use "Soldier's Luck" and deploy one "Knight of Death" against them, hoping that half the squad will die, and then finish off the rest with snipers from a distance? Come on, who has completed the game with this hero in version 1.1?
