By the way, does anyone understand what the warrior/mage hero system is? Does that mean a warrior hero won't be able to cast spells at all? And a mage won't be able to attack? That's definitely a drawback!

Elementary, my dear Watson. A warrior hero will develop combat parameters faster, while a mage hero will develop magical parameters. That's how it was in the third and fourth parts.
However, in the fourth game, nothing prevented a barbarian from learning a couple of schools of magic at the first opportunity and unleashing a barrage of fireballs.
