Gilgamesh on Unpaid Leave
Once in the freezing winter chill
I stepped from the woods. The frost was severe.
As I walked, I saw—climbing the hill
Was a little horse pulling a cart of brushwood.
I ran, I caught up, and there—Gilgamesh!
Leading the mare by the bridle, walking on foot.
"O Gilgamesh! What has happened to thee?!
Why art thou punished by such a cruel fate?" -
"I angered the gods—I offended Ishtar!
I rejected her love, and thus I'm in this state!" -
"I am quite sorry, I empathize. Well,
In this outfit, you look like a Russian!" -
"Two is merrier, and it's my way too.
I'll make my cart move a bit faster!"
He marches with poise, he marches with grace,
My Sumerian friend, faithless to the gods.
In big boots, in a sheepskin coat!
I'll climb on the cart and give my feet a rest!

This is a kind of text-based RPG. Location: a tavern. One of the characters is reading a book. Italics are mine.
"A Lich is one of the forms of existence for the undead, chosen voluntarily or imposed by another's will. Two types of liches are found in nature: Liches, and LICH- larvae (LICHinki).
In captivity, liches do not reproduce; however, in the wild, they do not abuse this ability either, reproducing reluctantly and out of necessity. *And they even resist!* They reproduce by laying eggs, and they lay them carefully so as not to damage them, just in case they come in handy... It should be noted that the Liches themselves do not lay eggs; they are laid by Necromancers—at the moment of becoming Liches... *Oh...* LICH- larvae—a special subspecies of liches—subsequently form from the eggs... The number of LICH- larvae formed depends on the 'necromania' skill. *Is it definitely 'necromania'?* A large quantity requires the mandatory possession of the 'cloak of the undead king'...
Liches prefer to live in mausoleums. The most famous lich—iL'ICH—still lives permanently in his mausoleum.
Liches are distinguished by deep knowledge of magic and anatomy. Their favorite spell is illusion. Liches use illusion magic always, which facilitates the communication of liches with sentient beings. Also, for successful contact with sentient life forms, liches use clothing *They dress up! What can you do—habit!* and mint leaves *Fresh breath eases understanding!*. Exhibitionist liches are also found in nature, but they are not particularly popular, as the sight of a naked lich produces an extremely depressing impression and leads to a lethal outcome from malnutrition resulting from a total loss of appetite for nine months. *Or from the desire of some ladies to approach the ideal, i.e., to get rid of excess weight.*
From the above and a detailed study of liches in their natural habitat, scientists have drawn the following conclusions:
A Lich knows how to use magic, most often illusion magic. He cannot avoid using illusion magic because he is ashamed. When a lich casts a spell, strange things happen. If the things are very strange, the lich is good; if not very strange, he is a bad, useless lich.
A Lich can hop from one quest to another as deftly as a sailor from the topgallant to the bowsprit. A lich's opinion is always negative. The most common disease among liches is verbal diarrhea. A lich infected with this disease can pollute your brain for twenty-four hours. A giant lich (not found in nature) can pollute an entire tavern.
Synchronized liches are found only in Varant and work in pairs, links, etc., up to a regiment. The birthday of liches is Friday *The Thirteenth!*. The dose tolerable by a lich is 250 decibels, or 40 roentgens, or 150 volts, or 4 kicks.
It is impossible to drown a lich in a one-liter jar. A lich made of reinforced concrete on a scale of 32:1 is the best monument to a father-in-law. Two hundred liches, glued end-to-end in the form of a solid panel, represent a luxurious sight.
There is no separate species of rabid liches, however, the number of such in any population is 77%. The pink singing lich *Singing liches!*, as well as its dancing variety, is encountered mainly in the form of hallucinations.
The primary food of liches is the brains of peaceful tavern visitors. Cases of liches attacking large cities and bags of sugar have also been described. Liches generally find each other repulsive.
No distinct hierarchy is observed among liches, although a large lich can easily soil a small one. A pet lich is a phenomenon as rare as a footed one, because a lich can only be tamed with three now-forgotten ancient words.
A domestic lich is kept wrapped in soft rag cloth and, with careful handling, does not wake up. In ancient times in Myrtana, liches served in the royal chambers as walking clothes racks *Come on, rack, take a walk!*; crushed and pickled liches graced any feast.
And one last thing. If you dress up as a lich on some forum, fame, success, and great luck in love await you *among necrophiliacs, lovers of the exotic, and ladies obsessed with diets*.
Note:
If you wish to behold a lich in its true form, without the effect of illusion magic, you must use the "Gulchatay" rune. *Open up, LICHie, LICH-ality!*"
