What are you listening to right now?

5 years ago, I was just like that.

Ugh, how disgusting!
But I wasn't like that. I didn't like the music that everyone else listened to and shared on their phones.
Almost everyone at my school listened to rap, specifically that kind, and R&B (or whatever it was called). No one listened to electronic music, except for club music later on. I listened to electronic music, specifically The Prodigy (and not much else, lol), and everyone thought I was weird (of course, because I wasn't like them).
And I didn't even have a cell phone xD. But even if I had, I still wouldn't have listened to music for the reason mentioned above.
At some point, I got a phone, of course, but through the phone, some "rappers" introduced me to metal. They sent me a few Linkin Park songs, but they mostly sent me their electronic tracks. They have different kinds of music; some is more rock, some is more rap, and some are electronic songs (but there aren't many of those). They knew I liked that kind of music, but they probably wanted to gradually introduce me to rap. Anyway, I later copied someone's entire discography, but I only listened to the rock songs. I didn't listen to the rap songs back then, just out of principle. That's right, that was garbage. Everyone had the idea stuck in their heads that "everything is garbage except rap" (of course, they didn't listen to anything else and didn't even hear it), and I had the idea that "rap is always garbage" (I didn't really listen to it either, only the stuff that the kids played on their phones). By the way, Linkin Park can also be considered nu-metal, in addition to alt-rock and rapcore.
Anyway, I got into Linkin Park and then gradually moved on to other music. Half a year later, I was already listening to Nightwish
