By this point, you should have realized that our universe may have additional curled-up spatial dimensions; naturally, as long as they remain small enough, no one will be able to prove that they don’t exist. And yet, additional dimensions may seem like just a trick. Our inability to explore distances smaller than one billionth of one billionth of a meter allows for the existence not only of extremely small dimensions but also of various other fantastic possibilities, even the existence of microscopic civilizations inhabited by tiny green people. Although the former seems much more rational than the latter, postulating either of these unproven and, at present, experimentally unverifiable possibilities may seem equally arbitrary.
