Well, a Necromancer can kill anyone by the 6th week, even on a large map. And if they have the Artifact, it's the 4th week. They won't even need to return to their city once. But Dwarves don't have a great start; simply put, it's slow. It's a different story if the game is played on "The Shadow of Death." There, the Necromancers were significantly nerfed...
It's foolish to reason like that. Necromancers aren't overpowered; they can be defeated if you calculate everything correctly. If we're talking about "Heroes of Might and Magic V," then Dwarves and Orcs are more overpowered than Necromancers. Just look at their Tier 7 units and racial abilities. And what about Haven with a bunch of Paladins? Or Elves with the Avenger? Or Mages with Mini-Archmages? Or Warlocks with Armageddon? The only race that's probably at a disadvantage is Demons.
