Did the graphics of Heroes 3 not deter you from wanting to play?

Maybe it's just a matter of habit, but I actually like the map graphics in Heroes 3 more than in Heroes 5. However, the battles in Heroes 5 are prettier. In Heroes 4, on the other hand, the movement on the map is quite good, but the battles didn't appeal to me at all.
