I saw messages like "vt under sod." Does that mean it can be customized for each difference? Or is it like there's just one checkbox, "under sod"? :)

There's no checkbox. And, apparently, due to the machinations of the Evil One, it's impossible to implement such true-SOD features as having the right, unbought hero's army in the tavern on the 1st day of the week, Slow on the 1st level, magic where it should be - all useful things in the overpowered Earth and Air, a +1 speed bonus as a starting bonus, and I'm not even mentioning that they made (OH, THE HORROR!) the feature of viewing artifact names by only seeing one visible edge unremovable - this is almost sacrilege (before, we generated a similar relief in the editor and placed artifacts there, determining what was there in the game by the words of the Leader). In short, SOD is SOD, and VT is VT, in principle it's impossible to make one out of the other:smile16:.
