Let's just add a rule: if an opponent disconnects (more than once), you can decline the match with them without explanation (due to suspicion). I had a funny situation: the opponent disconnected, I waited, as it was a tournament, and he explained that he had personal (home) problems (and apparently, he couldn't write about it before).
Not everyone has a fast internet connection, and even less have a stable power supply. :D In all the games I've played, my opponents have disconnected 3-4 times (not counting myself) (due to a bad connection, internet issues, power outages, computer problems, or just a random disconnect for no apparent reason). Fair play should still be a thing. I haven't tried without Gnomes. I wouldn't just randomly try it, and it would be a shame to lose 2500 [points/resources].
