Western films usually have big problems with that. Most actors are one-dimensional and always play the same roles.

There is a certain category of films that are interesting to watch specifically for the plot, but these are generally not action films. However, I don't see the point in watching them in a movie theater on a big screen; it's easier to wait for the disc release and watch them at home.

If there is a certain atmosphere, then on a big screen, you become part of the film, experiencing all the events together with the characters, and so on.

If you go to a movie for the 3D and special effects, then it's easier to set up a large flat screen at home, buy glasses (you probably won't even have to buy them; they used to be in magazines), and watch at home. Considering the increasing number of such films, I think this solution will pay for itself quite quickly.
