The plot was certainly heavily altered, and I can't understand why they did that.

But what's the point of making an exact copy? And what's the point of watching it, knowing exactly what will happen next? :)

Personally, I really hope that the second part of the movie will be based on the second game, which in my opinion is the best in the series. The atmosphere there is amazing, and with minor changes, it could be wonderfully conveyed in the film. As for the movie that has already been released, I liked it. Not very much, but it is noticeably better than a number of other truly unsuccessful game adaptations.
