Ask yourself, would the heroes have become so popular if TE had been officially released after The Shadow of Death? Or VT? Probably not; they would have faced the fate of Heroes IV :( .
In general, all the ideas from WoG are copied from Disciples and Age of Wonders. I love both of those games, but in terms of popularity... where are they and where are Heroes?
