Regarding the Bolsheviks – sorry, I made a mistake. We would have won the war even without the revolution; moreover, we would have had far fewer casualties, because then there wouldn't have been the partisan "cannon fodder" – people who died only because they were forbidden to retreat. And don't start saying that "they played an important role in this way"; they were given weapons that were only good for putting cats to sleep, and they died under the fire of professional German machine gunners, completely uselessly! They couldn't even go on the attack to at least die with some meaning. Stalin said: "hold the positions," and that was it. No discussion. No one dared to argue with him, even in cases where strategic mistakes were obvious. Thank you, Stalin, for our "bright future"! :mad: I feel sick just hearing his name, and that's saying something, considering I'm a Christian! However, arguing now about how things could have been better is pointless. 40 million dead cannot be brought back. I know that the Soviet Union was perhaps the strongest sporting nation, but I wouldn't call that compensation for the deaths of tens of millions. In conclusion, I'll add one "what if." If there had been no revolution, who knows, maybe there wouldn't have been a second world war. After coming to power, the Bolsheviks almost immediately withdrew from the war, saying that "your bourgeois squabbles are none of our business." Left without an ally, Europe was limited to the Treaty of Versailles. If Russia had continued the war, it would have worn out the Germans so much that even Hitler wouldn't have thought about a "second attempt." But, as they say, "if only..."
