You idiot, Arandorchik. Who told you that congratulations are insincere? Do you even understand the meaning of the holiday? It's not a day to celebrate "Arandor's first chocolate," "Vissy reading his first fantasy book," or "Lokki trolling a schoolkid on VKontakte." It's a summary of the year. Think about what you've done, what you haven't done, what happened, and so on. Just, damn it, be happy that this terrible year is over. A holiday, friends, and rest await you; don't deny yourself anything!
But if you sit around all year doing nothing, degrading in every way while lounging on the couch with permanent laziness, constantly thinking everyone is an idiot and that everyone is doing everything wrong (your dad says they're imbeciles), while you yourself can't even bring yourself to lift a finger, then yes, this holiday isn't for you.
