Yes, yes, friends, we are already in the thirteenth season of our HeroesWorld tournament.
The site started working in 2006; the first topics in our section appeared at the end of 2006 - beginning of 2007, and the first seasonal tournament was held in winter 2007-08.
We played twelve seasons in three years and awarded the Winner twelve times.
I have been running the ranking for a year. I suggested that the Winners of 2010 – numOne, GoD, AYMAN, and Gomunguls – find out, to put it figuratively, "whose medal is tougher..." (in jeweler's terms, determine the metric fineness of the gold in the alloy from which each medal is made), and they all happily agreed. The winners of previous years, Dubrovin Pavel and scorp, also expressed their desire to play.
Since these players are living history of HW3, I want to write a little about everyone during the tournament, recall the most interesting moments, and try to get each one to talk, a small interview. So, follow the topic.
It is clear that the tournament has no specific theme. All participants – Players and Season Winners – have played/are playing a lot and successfully. Therefore, the basis is an agreement on how to play, as in the season.
By default:
- SoD version;
- seasonal rules in the new edition. Agreement is required if you want to start Graal-hunting immediately;
- template selection - choose three: 2SM4d(3), 8mm6a, mininoстальгия.
Of course, in a particular pair, you can agree on any changes: play on any version, choose from another list of templates, you can play everything on one specific template or a series of games on several different templates, you can even play with fixed heroes. The main thing is that it's Heroes MM 3.
Regulations.
The duration of the tournament is 90 days - exactly one winter season - from 12:00 on December 15, 2010, to 12:00 on March 15, 2011.
During this time, each player must play at least 2 games against everyone else. That is, a round-robin system without restrictions on the number of games. A series of more than two games is welcome; we will get a more objective picture of the difference in skill level. The draw for colors in the first game is in the table in the second post of the topic. Then change colors in each subsequent game.
A big request to all participants to write detailed reports and, if possible, upload interesting saves. It will be interesting for both beginners and experienced players.
Determining the Winner.
If 2 or more games are played in a pair, then 1 point is awarded for winning each game, 0 for losing, and 0.5 for a draw.
At the end of the tournament period, the results in each pair will be normalized to 2. That is, there will be a total of 2 points in a pair, regardless of the number of games played.
/For example, the players have played 7 games between themselves, with a score of 3-4. The "weight" of each game decreases: for each victory, 2/7 is awarded. Then the first player receives 3*2/7 = 0.86 points, and the second 4*2/7 = 1.14 (I will round to 0.01). In other words, we get the percentage of wins/losses divided by 100 and multiplied by 2./
This result will be displayed in the final table. The champion will be the one who scores the most points. If the number of points is equal, the following will be taken into account: 1) Berger coefficient, 2) balance of personal meetings, 3) permanent rating.
The maximum you can score is 10 points by winning all games.
If nothing has been played, then 0-0 is assigned.
With one game - penalty, 0.5 points are given to both for the game.
And there will also be determined the Most Active among our Winners. For each game played in the tournament, regardless of the result, the participant will receive 3 activity points. For games played simultaneously in the season with other opponents, 1 point will be awarded. Points are summed up.
Thus, it may happen that, as in the season, the Champion will not be known until the very last day.
Lost at the beginning, there is an opportunity to rehabilitate and improve (or perhaps worsen) their points. It is also beneficial for the opponent to play more; they get points towards Activity.
Organizational issues.
1. The status of the tournament is fan-based.
2. I will run the tournament and judge. You know my ICQ. I hope the judge won't have much work.
3. The champion among the Winners will be presented with a Cup, and the Most Active – a medal:
I will also try to make beautiful pictures for the signature for the Champion and the Most Active.
4. All games go into the seasonal rating.
If I forgot/didn't take something into account, I will add it later.
