try to gather artifacts on the initial map. Tactics + Wanderer's Boots (it's unlikely you'll get a speed aura). Maybe you'll get lucky and your units will move first, so you can at least do something.
If the horses manage to scare away the units standing in front of the archers, and the next stack attacks them, you might have some chance. + surprise attack.
But still, demons have a hard time against this setup.
