Thanks for clarifying how things work, I'm a sysadmin myself and saved up for my PC without my parents' help. ADSL is great, but killing the landline phone just for the internet is stupid, especially when you're at work until 8 PM; also, here in Chelyabinsk, there is no unlimited ADSL at all :(

It will, and most likely you'll have to sell it for half the price. A sysadmin with no internet at home—you're something else, is that how you relax? Why "kill" the line? On the contrary, you're basically freeing it up. No internet in a million-strong Chelyabinsk—come on, you probably don't know your own city very well. Sorry, I live not far from Chelyabinsk myself, originally came from Kamchatka, but I haven't seen any problems with high-speed internet anywhere.
And anyway, if you're rarely home and only there to sleep, why the hell do you need such a machine?
