It's like some people go abroad to relax and bring books with them, as if they can't read at home. (not counting trains).
You can read a book not only on a train, but also lying on the beach, while traveling by bus, or just in the evening. You can go out on a nice, cool summer evening, sit on a bench under a street lamp, and read.
But in general, it's better to read books in electronic format (on a phone, for example), because you can always have them with you.

it's interesting to read a book, whether it's a vacation or not, there's no difference
some hardcore gamers even bring half of their home library with them, drag it somewhere, sit in a sanatorium and read endlessly, but that's just weird.
