World Championship in Heroes of Might and Magic III.
Where does all this empty self-confidence come from? I have participated in tournaments with a double-elimination system many times, and I have never seen such NONSENSE with a different number of wins. Such a handicap is given ONLY when a pro plays against a beginner. For example, sometimes a Candidate Master (KM) can give a handicap to an amateur.
Here's what Wikipedia says:
- If the winner of the upper bracket wins the first game, they get first place, and their opponent gets second. - If the winner of the upper bracket loses the first game, a second game is played, and the winner of that game gets first place, and the loser gets second. This variant is called "Full Double Elimination."
