Do you believe in ghosts?

I have a friend who lives 10-15 meters from the cemetery. He says that the spirits of his ancestors and unfamiliar souls come to visit him. I wanted to see them, but my friend said that they hide. Doesn't that sound strange? But there's a church 100 meters from his house.
