I didn't say we had to go to Izhevsk. We can consider it as a backup option. I just found someone who might be helpful to us. They could promote the Tournament in their circles, in the press, and possibly help us find interested sponsors, etc.

Let's define what we want from them so I can have a specific conversation with them!

Alex, let's take it step by step. Promoting the Tournament among acquaintances and in the Izhevsk press (and maybe even beyond, on internet portals) is a very good thing. In my opinion, there's nothing more specific to discuss right now.

Regarding sponsors, it's more complicated. This organizer and the sponsors are in Izhevsk, while we are, let's say, in Michurinsk or Moscow, a thousand and a half kilometers away. Hmm, I think sponsors are pragmatic enough not to give money to just anyone. For example, I could be a sponsor.
My friend Alexgrid comes to me with a request to help him with money for his Tournament.
Knowing him as a good person, someone I've been friends with for many years, I would help.
But if he comes with something like: "You know, there are great guys a thousand and a half kilometers away, not very well known, could you give them money..." - I would refuse without hesitation.
Maybe I would help if the Tournament was named after my company or something like that. But then I would find a lawyer friend who would explain the intricacies of Russian law, after which I would be wary of getting involved. Right now, there's nothing we can take from it; it's the same as asking guys playing soccer on the beach for beer to organize an alternative Russian championship, unsanctioned by the football federation.
But once a company gets involved, the situation changes.
That's why I wanted to reach out to a magazine – to legalize our Tournaments through them, with the computer sports federation, with Buku, and steer the process in a civilized direction.

For now, I see it like this:
1. Izhevsk - there is a desire and opportunity. But we need to gather people, at least 6. Who will go?
2. Moscow. We can't organize it independently. With the involvement of a gaming magazine, the question is open.
3. Michurinsk. We could probably gather people. But I'm busy with three other things right now, so I won't make any promises. Unless the Heroes of Might and Magic 3 final is held here, then yes, we can gather.
4. Novosibirsk - we could probably organize a Tournament ourselves, I can name 4-5 strong players. But it would only be a local, Siberian Tournament.
5. Saint Petersburg. There are players, but no desire. Horn could probably organize it, but he's not interested in Heroes. Gunnar has never organized championships.
