I personally adhere to the theory of L.N. Gumilev, who states that the average lifespan of an ethnos is 1200-1500 years. However, under certain unfavorable factors, the course of development can be interrupted. The history of the Russian ethnos begins approximately in the fourteenth century (500 years younger than Europe, 400 older than the USA). The same peak for the Russian ethnos was the 17-18 centuries (from the first Romanovs to Catherine II). There were successes afterward as well, but they were not as significant. Due to the mistakes of Peter I, a national revolution occurred in 1917, overthrowing an anti-national monarchy. And here is where it gets most interesting. In the period from 1914 to approximately 1953, there was a serious depletion of the ethnos's strength. In forty years, it aged by about five hundred years. And now we have caught up with Europe and have become old men ourselves.
