I also like the idea of a game without templates more; it's closer to how I started playing. If most people support it, we can remove them (I think the size should be L+U or XL). Regarding restarts, Oelm's suggestion seems good; if anything needs to be adjusted, it can be. Overall, it looks acceptable.
