Yes, but only buildings and cities can be called castles, not the group of people living there. And considering that the Heroes series focuses primarily on battles, and building a castle is just preparation for them, it follows that the entities within the castle are united into a faction.
A group of people is called an army. The castle is the faction, and the army belongs to that castle. Simple and clear. Almost. But not "race tower" or "faction tower."
I don't see that with 3-4 heroes; the demons there are kind of weak.
In the third game, it's perfect. But the fourth game is different. There's only the devil and a dog. I never liked the dog. But the devil fits your description quite well.
