Sacred Haven of Debauchery

haven't played it.

I recommend it; it's a good game. At least until you're sent on a long journey through several dungeons in a French village. I don't know what happens after that because I focused on ice magic and messed up badly (I encountered undead that heal from my attacks, and my mage gets torn apart in melee combat).

maybe I'll try a half-elf.

Try a half-orc instead.
