I used to be a hardcore fan of the original game. Now I prefer the newer versions. At least for the convenience in many aspects. But why don't everyone prefer the newer versions? There are different reasons: conservatism, a subconscious fear of losing due to not knowing all the features of the newer versions when the opponent does – and especially when this actually happens, it leads to silly talk about the lack of interest, linearity, and stupidity of the newer versions. IMHO.
