You're confusing them with elves.
An angel cannot be a woman, because a woman is a vessel of lust, corruption, and vice.

We came to this conclusion in a discussion with =Feel999= several pages ago ;). Although it does resemble a description of elves. And for the second reason, an angel should be sexless :). But they still depict it as a woman. And I think that this is still more correct - at least the condition about beauty is observed. But in general, we will find out who is right when the developers provide information about the angel. If it will be :(.
