I liked them too, although they look like a copy of ghouls.
Ifrits are not needed by anyone, a pathetic clone of a genie.

Probably ghouls were made from tormentors; the description says that they improve by experiencing pain. And here, the undead came, tore off a couple of bones, and created ghouls:D
This is just a heroic stereotype. But ifrit is a demon of wealth and discord, and is not at all like genies.

I think that all the elite demons are known: Tormentors, Jagged Ones, Cave Lords.
