Problem with establishing a connection.

Hello, dear forum members. I would like to ask for your help. I decided to relive my childhood and play Heroes 2 with a friend over the internet. I read the thread about the game's problem. We installed Hamachi, set compatibility with Windows 95, and disabled the sound in the game. Then, one of us creates a game via TCP/IP, and the other connects. The connection is established, but nothing happens after that; it doesn't even get to the map selection stage. It just waits for some time, and then it stops. Can you suggest anything? Is there a way to solve this problem? I read that some people had problems, but they were already in the game... and in our case, the game can't even start properly. Thank you in advance.
