Necromancers aren't undead; they're quite capable of being good. They just don't know any other way. Aranthir, for example, didn't want to kill everyone; he was fighting demons.

In the opening cutscene, Giovanni says that Aranthir was considered one until Asha gave him immense magical power to unite the necromancers and restore balance in Ashan. Aranthir wasn't good or evil. He was a true necromancer – a follower of Asha, striving to restore the balance between good and evil, but at the same time, he despised life.
