Humans are curious creatures; if they become fascinated with studying necromancy, why wouldn't they also study demons? And demons, in turn, could use them as additional cannon fodder and a way to summon reinforcements onto the battlefield. Therefore, I think demonologists would fit well, especially at lower levels, or at least as neutral creatures.
