After casting powerful spells, the magic user needs to rest, which is reflected in their inability to perform actions for a certain period of time. Sometimes, you have to wait up to half an hour of game time, so it is quite justified to use the following military trick. So, cast the spell and immediately go to the inventory of any character by clicking on them with the mouse. Select the "busy" hero and press Esc. Now you can use any spell from their arsenal again, even if the readiness indicator (next to the portrait) has not yet lit up.
