Terrorism is a product of society. And society consists of people, of us. After all, no one goes out into the street and shouts: "Long live the right of nations to self-determination, freedom for all!" And if we are not for it, then we are against it. And the government, relying on the silent consent of its citizens, wages war. If Chechnya had been given freedom back in 1991, we would have avoided many, many conflicts. But slightly cheaper gasoline is an incentive to support the government. Try to have Siberia now advocate for secession – we will be accused of separatism, of inciting ethnic hatred. And all of Russia (that which is west of the Urals) will support the government. Because natural resources are a great thing. And to protect my land, I am ready to do very, very much.
