Have you played jrpgs/watched anime, or at least played Korean MMORPGs? Angels, like some other fighters, are designed in the style of the "East," and there is a tendency to depict effeminate young men. And the fact that they don't look like other people is quite explainable, because "light and divine creatures" should look much more beautiful than a stern warrior.
