In Princess, it seems that "weak" units run away on their own, and it's quite difficult to catch them. Or does this only work for "very weak" units? I haven't played in a while, so I don't remember.
And there doesn't seem to be an auto-battle system like in Heroes. You can't avoid a battle.
They won't refuse to fight, but they will go out of control and start moving/attacking/using skills on their own, like in an auto-battle. Which isn't very good.

To steal a map, you have to try hard. For example, I've never managed to do it. You have to approach the guards, distract them from the map, quickly fly to the map with a fly spell, pick it up, and fly away. But you have to do everything very quickly. In my opinion, it's much easier to defeat the guards than to dance around them.
Oh yes... And not just rage. In battles with weak units (especially footmen), you can experiment as much as you want: collect medals (for the trapper, guardian angel, etc.), dig up chests as much as you want, and even sometimes restore mana.
Is it really possible to leave a garrison in a castle? What do I need to do for that?
I defeated the Driller, and I'm going to clear out Rehau. I'm gathering troops ;).
