HoMM3 HD is a mod (add-on) for the game Heroes of Might and Magic 3.

The only significant drawback is that at high resolutions, the windows remain small. Playing battles at the same 1280x1024 in those ridiculously small windows is not enjoyable. We'll have to wait and see if someone rewrites the graphics for higher resolutions. Although, it's unlikely... But for quickly gathering/splitting units at a resolution of 800x600, it's perfect, so thank you for that! (I would also like the keybind functionality like in WarCraft or the ability to customize them manually, as I'm used to it...)
