The Knight absolutely needs to level up the Distortion magic skill! At least on normal difficulty. Any level that's easier than impossible is no longer interesting to me. On easy difficulty, you can't understand why you're given a couple of griffin eggs at the start, why spider eggs are scattered around, and how valuable those medals can be.
With experience, understanding should come. When I was learning to play chess, I also couldn't understand the point of sacrificing a pawn. Material advantage seemed more important than initiative.
