And to make this choice more conscious, trials are sent to people. They can overcome them – which is better for them; they may not overcome them – and end up in a kind of "retake"; only retaking here is usually more difficult than passing the first time. Therefore, I believe that trials and evil suffering are necessary (and here I completely agree with AlexeyPunk) and, since God – as I believe – is good, he does not send people trials that they cannot overcome (I'm with you, Nowizard!:D).
If we use a free metaphor, God throws a brick at a person:D, and the person dodges. God might even shoot with a slingshot, but he doesn't do it if he knows for sure that the person won't dodge. And this is necessary because a person who closes himself off and withdraws from the world becomes open to dark thoughts and becomes isolated.
