At home everything is very modest: 1 crypt, 1 level 20 dwarf dwelling, 1 medusa dwelling. My opponent has 2-3 times more of everything. I barely managed to afford the cavalry in the citadel, tight on gold. Gunnar is level 121 with expert tactics, earth magic, and level 2 logistics. I clear all respawns in a row, but on 4 of them I find no stat artifacts; at home only a skeleton +2 attack and on the 3rd I found boots. Also not a single Griffin Conservatory or hive on any respawn. I take 4-5 Pandora's Boxes hoping for experience. They give all sorts of junk — either 5k gold, 15 elementals, or 30 unupgraded gargoyles. In one I got all the air elementals, but I didn't take wisdom at level 7 because I thought there would be at least one Pandora's Box for experience; my secondary town has built GM4 with meteor shower. And sometimes the panic is very uneven in terms of the situation.
I observed my opponent for the last few days; all his movements were plain to see, but I decided not to drag it out or overthink it — there was nothing left to squeeze out.
