And the griffins will indeed have a double retaliation readiness – before and after the enemy stack attacks.

But you still need to survive until readiness, with an initiative of 10:D, and readiness will only affect 1 stack, and then your entire double attack will be useless!!, and if you scare your griffins with a roar, you might not even use it once!!!:D
