Really?
I think there are only two or three such sets – dwarven, elven... and that's it, right?
And the rest don't care about racial characteristics.

Which means – NOT MUCH.

"Rune Power" - Warlocks, "Dwarven King's Armor" - Dwarves, "Ur-Gash's Will" - Demons, "Lion's Courage" - Humans, "Embrace of Death" - Necromancers, "Archer's Dream" - Wood Elves, "Regalia of Sar-Issa" - Mages, "Weapon of Power" - Orcs. All of them provide certain bonuses regardless of the hero's race, but a specific bonus is given to the "native" hero; for example, demons summon 25% more troops. Plus, there are neutral sets, like dragon artifacts; I think that's quite enough. More details can be found in the manual in the FunDocuments folder.
