I rarely watch movies, but on the advice of a classmate, I decided to watch Green Street Hooligans. The beginning of the film didn't promise anything particularly interesting or epic, and I was already starting to think I would be disappointed, but that was just the beginning...
I really liked the movie; it doesn't have the kind of pompousness that is typical of action movies, science fiction, and the like. Essentially, it's a story about real people and real life, and perhaps that's what I liked about it.
By the middle of the film, it became clear that things wouldn't end well, and that's exactly what happened. One of the main characters died near the end of the film, but the story couldn't have developed any other way, as it is, after all, a drama. The film ends not with a funeral, but with a more than logical, for a film about the darker side of football, song-chant of football hooligans.
