That's exactly how it happened. Overconfidence ruined me in this match. After a first, fairly successful trade, I ran into a treasure zone, where I took the Dragon Utopia for stats and 2 libraries, plus a bunch of Pandoras, but they gave nothing for magic. In the Conflux, I built up to level 4 (Town Portal) and, confident in my superiority, I took the capital from the fleeing Alkin and decided to spend the night there. On the next turn, I was unpleasanty surprised by an attack from an opponent with stats comparable to mine, although for a long time before that, they had shown as being 2 times smaller.
