Finally, I entered the village, and the guards greeted me warmly. But then trouble started – a Necromancer infiltrated the village, threatened everyone, and summoned giant spiders. The spiders scurried around the town and settled in the mayor's house, while the Necromancer hurried away, rubbing his bruised spots and cursing the peasants. Real help is needed here – I was sent to Aldwin, who lives nearby.
Fortunately, the mayor locked himself in his room, and he wasn't in immediate danger, so I didn't rush. I explored the village, robbed a few nearby houses, and had a drink at the tavern
and witnessed an interesting event. In Ix, archery competitions are held periodically, and I happened to arrive just on one of those days. I was advised to buy a bow from a local merchant, but the prices there didn't please me at all. Five hundred for the simplest bow – that was several times more than all the money I had. But in an alley near the store, I found a suspicious guy who sold me the same bow for only a hundred.
I was given a quiver of arrows right there, and I easily hit ten out of ten targets. I won fifty coins, and they even allowed me to keep the unused arrows. I gained some notoriety among the citizens.
I didn't buy anything else, as I was short on money, so I just went to Aldwin. As I was leaving the town, a wolf rushed at me from the forest, but a wizard nearby cast a spell on it. I talked to him and learned a lot of interesting things. [he sold wolves to the Warrior for two hundred each]
I reached the river and saw a barefoot man who asked me to return the boots that the goblins had stolen from him and told me that the bridge had been washed away, and the only passage to the other side was still through the goblin caves. Well, okay.
There were no crystals in the caves, so I quickly used up all my mana and tried to chase the little bastards with a stick, but that was very tiring. Then I remembered the bow and started a shootout in the goblin caves, not sparing the arrows.
I found the boots and returned them to the owner, and he gave me some experience and added a stun spell to my spellbook.
After leaving the caves and finding Aldwin's house, I met the owner inside. He listened to me and offered to teach me "enchantment" for a symbolic, paltry fee of thirty. Of course, I agreed. From his house, an underground passage led to the town, exiting into a secret room in the magic shop. Along the way, I practiced controlling spiders.
Finally, I burst into the mayor's house, charmed and drove away the disgusting creatures, and the mayor rewarded me and, at the same time, opened the southern exit from Ix. Before leaving, one of the Sorceresses caught up with me, told me about the terrible danger in the mana mines, and I was hired to rescue the miners.
