Nowadays, in our new, blessed time, few newcomers even notice the existence of two role-playing games in the gaming section. But in the old days, these topics were well-established and comfortable. Well, where there are two people, there is a phenomenon, known as a "flame war."
It happened a long time ago, and Magnus and Tengro clashed in a bloody battle. And the master brigade of RPGs, for that matter. But it all started peacefully.
It is no longer feasible – especially for me, an old and musty soul – to delve into the topic and present that story to the public, so I will retell it from memory.
Unlike modern RPGs, the balance in those days was not yet well-established, and the inattention of the main GMs led to great troubles for everyone. In particular, Magnus, who was then a relatively newcomer, managed to smuggle many goodies from the TES universe into the role-playing game set in an alternative Ashan (nowadays, the author would be bought out in the Sea of Irrus for such an alternative, but then it was something new). And – an elephant.
At that time, no one had personal mounts. And when Magnus, on an elephant, tried to levitate across the sea using boots of levitation...
In general, the argument was long and unpleasant. But the phrase "let's put levitation boots on the elephant" was remembered by the players of that time.
And then Magnus created his own RPG. An interesting one. But that is a completely different story.
P.S. If you want, dig into the RPG topics. There is a lot there...
