Why is it nonsense? It's a perfectly decent move:
The obvious advantages are that all heroes are at speed 9, which greatly simplifies battles with neutral creatures, both infantry and archers. It also gives a significant advantage in early contact with the opponent, especially against someone like Ivory or Valensky.

As an alternative, you can build a Grand Master (GM) strategy, where you have a lot of trogs (SOD) and a few interesting objects appear, like a Consulate 2-3.

The move is decent if there's a need for it: when Laura arrives, or when you need to counter ranged units. But in 90-95% of cases, as VLK writes, there's no need to do it – at level 111, it's important to have a speed advantage and to accumulate money to buy more scouts, which allows you to develop a further strategy. There are cases where the resource spawn is poor, but there's one good thing, like Pandora or a Hive – you just rush there. If you take it, great; if not, you reset. And you end up with one extra building in the city, which means one less unit type.
